Case study: Downtown Markham
Downtown Markham property developers were looking for a website that reflected the community’s modern, upbeat spirit, highlighting the numerous amenities in the area and, of course, made it easy for potential customers to receive and submit information about residential, commercial and retail properties available. Executives wanted a site that reflected the dynamic elements of the community but wasn’t difficult for their team to update with news, events and an ever-changing number of purchasing and leasing opportunities.
The Downtown Markham team was already active in social media, so rather than providing another space to maintain, the Break Tag Media team suggested using existing social resources to give a new website a dynamic feel worthy of visiting daily. We also developed a site that was graphic-heavy and emphasized the bright, exciting elements of the neighbourhood as an enticement for potential clients to desire to become a part of the Downtown Markham community.
With large, graphic elements throughout the site, Break Tag Media developers used existing Facebook and Instagram feeds to highlight key news and events in the community. We also created a complex set of conditional forms for business leads, and a booking engine for the community’s recreation centrepiece, the Pride of Canada Carousel.
The site is currently being populated by members of the Downtown Markham team with the expectation of launching it in August or September 2017. The Markham executive team is excited about the site’s fresh look and signed off on the project just a few hours after they were presented with the core framework.
